My favorite Barbecue in Austin

Browns BBQ!

Browns happens to be one of my favorite BBQ spots here in Austin, TX
I was first introduced to it by a friend who assured me it was the best in town. Seeing as I didn't have much to compare it to I trusted his intuition.

I didn't quite know what to expect on our way there, but I certainly didn't envision a food truck!
Yet there it was in all its glory, that bright red bundle of belly joy! The truck is nestled right in front of "The Corner Bar". It's hard to miss especially if you're looking for "The Corner Bar" haha.

I opted for the brisket, potato salad and beans if I recall correctly. We sat down at their shaded picnic tables and dug in. It was absolute beefy smokey melt in your mouth Texas BBQ heaven. I knew then in my heart that this was my official BBQ go to spot!

I know you all may think I'm biased considering at the time I hadn't had much to go on. However I'm writing this after I've experienced other BBQ places around town, including: Mickelthwait, Rudy's, Slow Pokes, Leroy and Lewis (which takes a close second) Papalote (but their tacos are bomb af), and some crap "bbq" joint off of the frontage road of I 35 northbound. I wont name the place because it isn't worth a mention.

I know I may also be judged due to the fact that I haven't tried Franklin's yet, especially since I've been here for four going on five years, shame on me! Honestly when there's too much hype I tend to rebel, not to mention I'm not interested in standing in line all day to eat, if anything I'll be hangry by time I get my food and won't properly enjoy the meal resorting to scarfing it down as quickly as possible to nurture my growling belly.

I also haven't tried any Lockhart BBQ as it's assumed to be the BBQ Capitol of Texas. That's a trip I'm willing to take. Maybe one day I'll get the Franklins bug and make that decision, but until then I know where my the hearts of my little taste buds lie. If you're ever in Austinand have a yearning for BBQ (as you should as human being) Check out Browns BBQ no frills just good ole meat!
